General
Is the first consultation free?
Yes. Your first consultation is free and without obligation.
Where is your office?
Office A07, 3rd Floor, Abstract Business Centre, Control Tower, Motor City, Dubai, UAE. We are open Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
Do you work with businesses outside Dubai?
Yes. We work with businesses across the UAE. Most work can be handled remotely, with meetings at our Motor City office when helpful.
What size of business do you work with?
Our clients range from start-ups and SMEs to groups of companies with multiple entities.
What should I bring to the consultation?
Just an overview of your business and what you need help with. If you have a trade licence, recent financial statements or FTA correspondence, they help us give more specific guidance.
Corporate Tax
Does my company need to register for Corporate Tax if it makes a loss?
In most cases, yes. Registration and filing obligations apply to taxable persons regardless of whether tax is payable. We confirm your specific position during the free consultation.
What is the Corporate Tax rate in the UAE?
For most resident businesses, taxable income up to AED 375,000 is taxed at 0% and income above that at 9%. Different rules apply to Qualifying Free Zone Persons and certain other categories.
When is the Corporate Tax return due?
The return and any tax payable are generally due within nine months of the end of the tax period. For a calendar-year company, that means 30 September of the following year.
Can Small Business Relief reduce my tax to zero?
Eligible resident businesses with revenue at or below AED 3 million can elect Small Business Relief for eligible tax periods, which treats them as having no taxable income. It must be elected in the return and has conditions, so it should be assessed each year.
VAT
When must my business register for VAT?
Registration is mandatory when taxable supplies and imports exceed AED 375,000 in the previous 12 months, or are expected to exceed it in the next 30 days. Voluntary registration is possible above AED 187,500.
How often are VAT returns filed?
Most businesses file quarterly, while some are assigned monthly periods by the FTA. Returns and payment are due by the 28th day after the end of each tax period.
What is the standard VAT rate in the UAE?
The standard rate is 5%. Some supplies are zero-rated or exempt, which is why correct classification matters.
Can you take over VAT filing from our current accountant?
Yes. We start with a review of recent returns so that any issues are identified and corrected before we file the next one.
Accounting & bookkeeping
Which accounting software do you use?
Our team works with QuickBooks and Zoho Books. If you already use one of these, we work in your existing file; if not, we help you choose and set up the right one.
Can you clear a backlog of unrecorded transactions?
Yes. We regularly bring books up to date ahead of VAT or Corporate Tax deadlines, then move to a regular monthly cycle.
Do I still need an auditor if you keep my books?
Bookkeeping and audit are separate. If your company requires audited financial statements, we can advise on and provide the audit as a separate engagement, with appropriate independence.
Audit
Can the same firm keep our books and audit them?
Independence rules limit this. Where we provide accounting services to you, we will discuss independence safeguards or recommend a separate arrangement so the audit remains objective.
How long does an audit take?
It depends on the size of the business and how ready the records are. We agree a realistic timetable at the start based on your deadline.
Do I need audited financial statements for Corporate Tax?
Audited statements are required for Corporate Tax purposes for businesses with revenue above AED 50 million and for Qualifying Free Zone Persons. Your licensing authority or bank may also require an audit.
Business setup
Mainland or free zone — which is better?
It depends on your activities, customers, office needs and budget. We compare the options for your specific case during the free consultation.
Do new companies need to register for Corporate Tax?
Most companies must register for Corporate Tax, and VAT registration depends on turnover. We include tax registrations in our setup support.
